NYK Line Orders 4 VLCCs from Domestic Shipyards

According to Japan maritime Daily, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) Line has ordered 4 very large crude carriers (VLCC) of 300,000 DWT from Namura Shipbuilding and Japan Marine United (JMU).

The Japanese shipping company is expected to pay approximately USD 85 million per vessel, which will be delivered in between 2019 and 2020.

The owner looks to renew the tanker fleet with this deal, which is expected to amount to USD 340 million.
