SCF crude oil tanker Zaliv Amurskiy ran aground at 41 kilometer mark in Suez Canal on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place when the vessel was transiting the Canal in northern direction.
Latest reports revealed that traffic in the Suez Canal was affected because of the grounding. The tanker was refloated at around noon on Wednesday and heading towards the Port Said, escorted by tug boats, local media reported.
Preliminary investigation suggested that steering failure could have caused the grounding. The traffic on the Suez is now restored.
