Songa Bulk reported a profit of USD 2 million subsequent to the sale of its supramax bulker Songa Marlin.

The vessel, built in 2009 was purchased in November 2016 from Japanese company Kambara Kisen. It is expected to be delivered to the buyer in November.

At that time, the cost of the ship was USD 11.85 million.

The company had revealed that it was due to sell the vessel when it announced a USD 18 million tap issue for acquisition funds.

The successful tap issue will enable the company to acquire a Korean-built capesize, which will be delivered in January 2018. With this addition, Songa Bulk now has a fleet of 15 vessels.
