Boasting a fleet of 25 LPG carriers, the Nhat Viet Transportation Corp recently added the first bulker to its fleet. The company, which is now focussing on the wet cargo sector has added the vintage 26,500 dwt Vinalines Star and renamed it as Golden Sea.
A subsidiary of PV Trans, Nhat Viet Transportation owns some of the LPG carriers while most of these are being managed by the company. The Vinalines Star is one of the bulkers that Vinalines had placed for sale in 2016.
Though bulk cargo was not the central focus of Nhat Viet in the past, the company used chartered carriers to ship bulk commodities. PV Trans deals with PetroVietnam cargo serving the Dung Quat Refinery and Vung Tau Gas Processing Company.
