The warehouse ship from Kristiansund has arrived to Aibel. “Njord Bravo” has been two years at Umoe Sterkoder. Aibel in Haugesund will upgrade the warehouse ship. The contract has a value of approximately 1.3 billion. At the top, the project will engage around 600 employees.
Aibel will have overall responsibility for fabrication, installation, construction, engineering and procurement necessary for the mechanical completion of the warehouse. In addition, Aibel will assist Statoil with further completion and testing.
“This is a significant contract for Aibel, which confirms our leading position within major modification assignments on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. In recent years, we have conducted a comprehensive improvement agenda and are known to have many skilled and experienced professionals in this industry segment,” said Aibel’s CEO, Mads Andersen, in a press release after the company got the job.
“We therefore have a good foundation for carrying out this project safely and efficiently. The project will be a good reference in a market with increased demand for modification skills to extend the life of existing installations or ensure the tie-in of new fields,” he added.
